Installation

The Mega Box system is modular, consisting of concrete prefabricated rooms. The modules can be set up next to each others to create large open spaces, or can be stacked on top of each others to make up a Duplex.  With this single module, we can execute from the smallest 24m2 pads to large villas of a 1000 m2.

The Mega Box module has the following dimensions:

  • Interior clear height: 2.8 meters.
  • Width and length: 3.9x6.00 meters.

Our prefab houses are very flexible in terms of interior partitioning and design. To create large living areas, the 3.9 meter side can be completely removed from two boxes, or a 4.8 meter opening from the 6.0 meter side can be done. To divide the same box into two rooms or to add bathrooms we use interior partitions made of concrete or gypsum board.

While we strive to please all tastes with our ready to choose from designed houses, for additional fees, we can customize and create a model just for you to fit your needs and your lifestyle.

Installation sequence

Site leveling

Before any foundations can be installed or casted, the soil under the house location and its proximity has to be leveled, allowing for the foundations to sit properly.
The road leading up to the house should be large enough to accommodate a flat bed 12 meter trailer; any sharp turns near the site should be enlarged beforehand by the client.

Foundations

After the contract has been signed, a soil investigation is undertaken by the client to acquire the soil capacity. If rocky terrain or good soil nature and capacity are found then the Mega Box does not need any additional foundation than what we provide, it only requires a leveled ground. If not, strip foundations under the Mega box have to be cast. In the mean time, Mega Prefab manufactures the concrete boxes.

Transportation

The prefabricated modules are then transported on site already equipped with the kitchen, bathrooms and most of the finishing, keeping only minor tasks to be done on site.
