BOBO

The BOBO residential project in Mar Mikhael, Achrafieh, Lebanon. The outer façade of a traditional Achrafieh building is preserved and contrasts with the modern steel & glass architecture.

In order to preserve the 60 year old facade in place, no columns could have been placed at the outer edge of the slab. Resulting in an impressive 8 meters cantilever along most of the facade. The only support being the central core walls, the post tension design was quite challenging. It was solved using a 35cm post tension with a 30cm drop panel around the core walls.
